We had a very fun weekend this weekend. Jack is still under the weather, so on Saturday, my parents and I took Will and Molly to Museum District Day while Dave stayed at home resting and taking care of Jack's runny nose. Fittingly, our first stop was the Houston Center for Photography. As a student of photography myself, it should've occured to me that there may very well be a particular brand of art photography unsuitable for children (read: nudes) in the gallery. Fortunately, there was only one such image. But (and I know that this is going to surprise you), little Miss Molly found it and began giggling and pointing out a woman on the beach with a bare bottom. We moved quickly on and found the room in which they were having a children's activity. The idea was to take digital images of everyone in your family, then display them on the wall on a white sheet of paper on which the children trace the images. The result is really
interesting. I think I'll be keeping this bit of artwork for a long time! Next, we moved on to the The Museum of Natural Science. The dinosaurs were a huge hit, as always, and the kids loved the stuffed snake and turtle that Mema and Poppy bought them at the gift shop. Molly slept with Rainbow and Will slept with Sparkle last night when they passed out from our long day. We finished the museum day at the Children's Museum, where the current changing exhibit is the Invention Convention. Both kids had fun building their own "bug catchers" and then using them to catch butterflies made of tissue paper that were blown in the air by a big hairdryer-like contraption. Finally, we had supper and ice cream at the 59 Diner and headed home to SLEEP!
Today, Will worked with Daddy in the garage. Recently, our friends, the Willifords, took Will to the shop class at Lowe's, where Will got an apron and came home with several extra projects. So, today, he built the truck. He really is adorable using his big boy tools and he's so very proud of himself!
And, this weekend also marked Jack's first trip in the baby backpack. Granted, it was just around the house, but he enjoyed it none-the-less. When he gets better, we'll venture down to Jesse Jones Park to take him on a real hike!
Good thing there are no naked people here... only naked dinosaurs.

Waiting in line for the Shuttle bus to the next museum. What is it about kids and public transportation? They love it!

My little woodworker.

"Look at me mom! Check out this cool contraption. I can throw up on Daddy's BACK now too!!"

Gosh, I haven't seen Coady in a long time. What is that all over his face? ha. Cute, cute picture of Jack!
Your baby's face is priceless! I just love his expression! Looks like a fun place to go.
We had a great time, didn't we kids? I guess we could have done without Mema's almost heaving over that yucky smell in the museum. Other than that, Poppy and I had a great time with all of you.
