Moving On...

We accepted an offer on our house today. I'm going to sign the contract in just a little while and we have an inspection scheduled for tomorrow at 6:00 pm. So, the search for a new house will begin. I am VERY excited. I am THRILLED for this part of our journey to be over. But, I tear up thinking about the moment when I will exit this house for the last time. This is the house that I walked into for the first time with my new husband and we laid on the carpet in the living room, staring at the pristine white ceiling, marveling at being homeowners. We laughed when we got up because we were each covered in little grey carpet fibers. This is the house I brought three beautiful babies home, where they had their first real baths, their first boo-boos, where I tuck them in every night, and where I fell in love with them. Will lost his first tooth here, and I got Molly ready for her first recital here. This house will hold a lot of beautiful memories for me. And, yet I know, there will be more loose teeth, more recitals, more firsts. Firsts I can't even begin to imagine yet, like first days of high school, and first dates, and first cars. So, as you can tell, I'm feeling very nostalgic. But, I'm also feeling very grateful for the next season and all the beauty it will no doubt hold as well.

And We Have a Lucy!

We got a call last night around midnight from Dave's parents that they were headed to the hospital in Arkansas with Holly because her contractions were five minutes apart. Yesterday was Holly's due date and she was ready, ready, ready to have baby Lucy. A little after 3:00 am, we got the next call that Lucy had arrived. Good job Holly! As I'm sure anyone who knows me very well knows, it is killing me not to be there to hold that beautiful baby and give that beautiful Momma (and Daddy) a congratulatory kiss!
