EOBs

Today we received the full summary from the insurance company of all of Molly's care for her osteomyelitis (staph infection of her hip), from the first trip to Dr. Smith when we were sent to the ER to the last blood culture after they took out her PICC line. There are times I get very upset about our $2000 per person deductible. And then a statement comes in like the one I saw today and then I feel very blessed that I actually have some sort of health insurance. I don't think we could have swung $75,646.69. And, I also praise God for his promise to care for us. You see, just a few short months before Molly got sick, we almost dropped our policy with Dave's boss because we can barely swing the premiums and the deductibles to go with a personal policy that would have capped our hospital coverage at $50,000. According the salesman, 98% of hospital stays do not exceed $30,000. So, as long as you aren't in that 2%, it's a good policy. Thankfully, God provided us with an honest salesman who counseled us to stick with our current policy if we could at all afford it. We followed that advice and it saved us $25,000. Thank you, Lord! You are sovereign and you are praiseworthy! And, thank you even more that our little girl is happily running around and dancing her heart out!

Molly Moo and Her New Do

Several months ago, Molly trimmed her own hair, creating some really nice "layers." Every little girl has to do it atleast once, right!? Well, today was haircut day. I cut Dave, Will, and Molly's hair myself. So, I decided to even up all of her layers and let it grow out all one length. She ended up with a cute little bob. I think it's adorable. Molly really liked it. Dave saw the four inch long hair on the kitchen floor, looked at his baby, and I'm pretty sure is off crying somewhere. Poor daddy. She modeled her new do a bit for me...

I Have an Eight Year Old!

I remember when Will was really little, around two and three, we would go to birthday parties or the Fall Festival, and he would stand outside the bouncy houses smiling at the kids inside. I would ask him, "Do you want to go inside? Mommy will go inside with you." He would shake his head no and say he was scared. He was very timid of a lot of things... bouncy houses, water at the beach, stickers, ice cream! Here we are, just a few years later, and we had his eighth birthday party at a rock gym. I can't believe how big my boy is. I'm so proud of him for trying new things, "getting back on the horse" when he falls off, and growing to be such a sweet, amazing boy. Here are a few pictures of his big day...

Jack joins in the fun.

I gotta throw this one in just because his smile melts my heart.
