Have I Mentioned Jack Can Escape From Baby Jail (aka the crib)?

Last night, I had a meeting for work at 7:00. When I got home, Dave had already bathed the boys and put Jack to bed and Molly was in the tub. I sat down to eat but heard a Molly scream immediately followed by Dave yelling, "Tarrraa!" I came upstairs to find this. Does this look like Molly in the bathtub!?

"What? I'm just playing with my boat?"

"You think you can get me out of here, huh!?"

"Nah nah nah nah nah nah... I'm in the tub!"

"Mmmm... toothpaste for dessert."

"Woah... this diaper is FULL!"

Update on Molly's First Day

No more sad face. In fact, she apparently missed me so much that when I picked her up, she wanted to know why she couldn't stay as long as William and why she couldn't go to Kids R Kids (an after school daycare program). She also told me that Mrs. Gray gave her a smiley face in her folder and said "I think I'll be good EVERY day!" That would be nice... guess mommy needs to start giving out smiley faces! ;)

First Day

I am officially the mom of two elementary school students. Today is the first day for Will and Molly at Greentree Elementary, the first school I attended in Kingwood too many years ago! Molly was very, very excited about Kindergarten and Will was a little less than excited about his new school when they got up this morning. Molly stumbled downstairs half asleep with her clothes picked out in her arms, ready to start her day. Dave had to wake Will and Will said he didn't care what Dave picked out for him to wear. But, by the time we got to school, he looked a little happier and ready to go. The difference in drop-offs was quite hilarious. When dropping off Will, the teacher met us at the door, and told us thank you and goodbye. He found his way to his desk and gave me a wave and a smile, as I secretly longed for him to run back and tell me he loved me and give me a big kiss. When dropping off Molly, every student had at least one parent, if not both, smothering them with hugs and kisses, taking 85 pictures, and admiring their brightly colored pencil boxes. I was very pleased to see that Molly did indeed have a pink one. She became a little more timid as she sat at her table and watched the busyness swirling around her. I had been fine, but lost composure a little as I had to leave my little girl looking a little scared. Needless to say, I can't wait until 1:50 rolls around, and then 3:20 so that I can hear all about their day!

Here's Will in his traditional first day pose... looking alot like Nixon (plus one finger)

In front of the Greentree mascot... Allie Gator

And my big Kindergartener with Allie

And the sad face that made me cry right before we left. :(

Fun Weekend!

We had a great weekend. We celebrated the marriage of Dave's younger brother, Brandon to his beautiful bride, Emily. We are so excited to have her as part of the family! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bennett! Molly was a flower girl in the wedding and looked beautiful in her dress. She did a very good job. She's a spunky girl so I was a little concerned that she would take her "job" seriously, but she did great. I'm a proud momma. Saturday, we took Jack to get his first haircut. As my last baby, this was not something I was looking forward to, especially since he had the most adorable little curls in the back. But, he was looking pretty scruffy, so we took the plunge. He hated the haircut, but was a good little boy, sitting still and letting her cut while crying his sweet little eyes out. He looks very handsome now. And, to my delight, a little younger! Then, we went to see Will and Molly play in my mom's pool with their new bumper boats. They are really cool and Jack loved sitting in them as well.

So, we're looking forward to an exciting week. We are closing on both homes and starting the move on Thursday. We rented a truck to hopefully finish up on Friday. Of course, right now we are stressing out, having not heard from the underwriter on either the loan for the people buying our house, or the loan for the house we're buying. This part of the process is so fun! ;) Hopefully, in a few days, I'll be posting that it all did indeed work out and we are in our new home!

Molly and The Newlyweds!

And Molly in hers...

And Jack enjoying the ride...

But, not so much enjoying this. Poor kiddo!
